Markers are you friends Nice work, make sure you watch your ellipses. Don't be afraid to go bold with the markers, large contrast from light source(10-30%) to shadow(70-90%) will help define the shape in 3d space
Thanks, I appreciate the tips! I tried using the stencil for the ellipses... but they still don't look right :/ I think I'm better just doing them freehand!
several, but my favorite is a heavy card stock thickness colored paper from a local paper supplier called "Desert Storm". Its a very heavy paper, you can't see through it, so no tracing on this stuff, but its super sturdy and handles tons of marker ink with no effect to the paper, getting wet or bowing... The other paper i have recently started using BEE's marker paper, most Art supply stores will carry it. it is also almost card stock thickness, like a smooth bristol board. Also have some cold press stuff by a company i cant remember... for sketch work, i just grab a ream of white copy paper... I go through them like water...
